'39 FORD THE FAMILY SEDAN

Sometimes in a sea of chopped and channeled hot rods, and gleaming multi-carb engines and metalflake paint, it’s the subtle that stands out. Sometimes a simple car with the perfect stance and attitude can scream louder than any blown big block or three-foot high roadster. This was the case with Steve Hammack’s black ’39 Ford from Thornton.

As I stood in a sea of candy and chrome at the Streamline Open House party in Denver, Colorado, this little black sedan really caught my eye. A walk around it revealed a straight little car with a nice “rubber rake” and a twin carbed flattie. Inside, there were two kid’s seats in the back. Turns out, this was Steve’s daily driver. Imagine that, an old Sedan being used to haul the family around like it was designed to do.
