About this archive

A non-commercial reconstruction

Traditional Rod & Kulture Illustrated was a quarterly magazine of traditional hot rods, kustoms and choppers. Its website ran from 2005 until roughly 2019, moving through four platforms in that time. The domain later lapsed and the site is gone.

This archive rebuilds what the Internet Archive captured of it: 96 feature stories, 44 issues of the magazine with their covers, and 131 photographs from the reader gallery.

What is missing

Most of the magazine's own photography is gone. The Internet Archive's crawler never requested most of the images the story pages referenced, so for many features only the words survive. Where that is the case the page says so rather than showing a broken frame. Reader photographs that survive only as a thumbnail are not shown at all. The stories themselves were published online as previews — the full article ran in the printed issue.

Original addresses still work

Every old address we could resolve redirects to its new page, including the query-string URLs the original site used, so links from elsewhere on the web keep working. Photographs are served from their original paths for the same reason. Links to other websites have been removed; most of them no longer exist.

Pages from the original site

Text and photographs remain the property of their original authors and photographers.
