1969 Harley Davidson Shovelhead

Ah, the sixties… They say if you remember the sixties, you weren’t really there. And, if you were, you didn’t have any fun.
The sixties were a good time at Harley Davidson too, and the bikes coming out of Milwaukee are proof of that. Shovelheads and FLH’s of that era are really coming back lately, with prices dropping and lots of choices out there. Dustin Cramer of Reading, Pennsylvania, owns this nice example of a 1969 Shovel and I had a chance to shoot these images at an event called “Skate to Ride” in Philadelphia.
The event is held ever year in May at a skate park that was built entirely by skaters under a highway in a city park. Every year in May, hundreds of bikes descend on the park to hang out and skate the bowls and ramps.
