Brian Darwas' 1932 Ford

Every time I make my way into New York City, there is one thing that is always at the top of my list of priorities; I have to get in touch with Brian Darwas to see what’s going on in his garage. Whether he's laying out the first few pieces to start mocking up a new project or he's putting the finishing touches on his latest period perfect hot rod, there’s always something worth taking the time to check out. This time was certainly no exception, as word on the street was that Brian was in the final assembly stage of a serious Hot Rod. Hearing this, I quickly got in touch with him, knowing I would be in the city by the following weekend. Brian is a member of the New York City Chapter of The Rumblers Car Club and has been building traditional style hot rods along the Eastern Seaboard for nearly a decade. So it's no wonder that when he picks up a wrench people start to talk.

Brian wouldn't reveal much to me over the telephone as to which piece of old hot rod steel he was currently bringing back to life. He only said "if you're gonna be in the city this weekend, I hope you get the chance to stop by. I have a pretty good feeling that you're really gonna like this car." I had a pretty good idea what he could mean by that as he is well aware that a '32 Ford Roadster is my ideal Hot Rod. Reason being, it's the first year that the doors closed flush up against the body on a Ford, it was the first year for the Ford Flathead V8, and in my book it’s just the epitome of the phrase "Hot Rod." Needless to say, I kept my fingers crossed for almost an entire week.
