Drifter’s Coupe, 1930 Ford Model A

After my weekend at the Injectors Car Club, I began asking myself “How can one club have so many great cars?” The Model A Coupe that appears on these pages is another of Mark Conforth's cars, filled with as much history as his others, but much closer to home.

his story begins in the late 70's at Mark's body shop. A man named Fred Staudinger stopped by and told him of a Model A coupe he had been working on since 1958. Fred told Mark of a channeled hot rod with a Flat head V-8 that he kept at his mother's house, and, over the next ten years, Fred would stop by Mark's place and tell him of the progress he had made on the car. But then, the visits stopped, and, for a long time, Mark didn't see or hear from Fred.
