Marty's 1933 Chevy Gasser!!!

Barn find cars seem to be all the rage these days. Apparently everyone in America has a barn with an old car in it. This is not one of them. This car was built to look like an old gasser from the late fifties or early sixties, and does a damn good job of it.

Owner Marty Ingram from Denver PA, owner of Marty's Rods and Customs, found this 1933 Chevrolet Standard three-window coupe, complete with rumble seat three years ago just a few miles from his home. The car was stored in a barn for about eight years. So I guess it was a barn find, but it wasn't an old drag car, just an old Chevy coupe wearing original paint and the original mohair interior. Upon further inspection it was discovered that the car had a cracked engine block. That's when Marty decided to make a gasser out of it. Out came the original motor, trans, and rear in favor of something more powerful. All the while keeping a specific time period in mind. In the late fifties the noses of cars were up pretty high in order to transfer weight to the rear tires, keeping them planted for more traction. Tire technology was getting better, but nowhere near what it is today.
