No fool like an old fast fool
I first met Tiberius Callahan at the Del Mar Mile motorcycle races in 1995. He was with a bunch of cats I know from Ventura , California . Ti was riding one fast 1940 Harley-Davidson knucklehead. The race wasn't until Sunday so we had a couple days and nights riding up and down Hwy 1 just north of San Diego . Riding along the ocean at night, going from bar to bar, these old V-twins ran splendidly, with that cool wet ocean air breathing down their old soup-can Linkert carburetors. I just could not get over how strong his 61” knucklehead ran to my 80” Bonneville Indian chief. Race morning I met Ti out in front of the hotel waiting for our friends, and we started to talk about his bike.
