What he does confess to is that he’d “slowly been liking old US East coast channeled hot rods,” along with “Australian 60’s hot rods” of similar fashion. Reading is research, and the same applied to fuel Ashley’s aspirations. Once he was ready, he was prepared to go over the top, down under. Preparing for the build required the typical accumulation process of all the bits (Aussie for: parts and components) that were needed to launch the project.
There’s always the story within the story; his includes chasing down doors and the rear body bits he’d heard about in a “crazy old guy’s front yard.”
