While Walt has enjoyed restoring & fixing period motorcycles in his spare time for years, his true passion lies in creating motorcycles of his own design. We last visited Walt back in issue 8 while his latest creation, "The Californian" was still a work in progress. Walt, a special effects artist, wields his special kind of magic in his off hours after work and between movie projects.
The Californian design is based on motorcycles from the early days. Walt didn't design his motorcycle on paper, he could see it in his mind. Any concept drawing would have only been for us to see what he had in mind. This motorcycle idea developed after Walt found the engine. The bike was designed and created around the engine. Walt's design started off with creating the engine carriage, the part of the frame that hold the engine.
